Through our years volunteering at the shelter here, we have seen what is possible for animal shelters with sufficient support and funding. We are blessed to live in a community that is so generous, and where people have the means to provide so bountifully for the homeless animals. In our travels around the state, as we have seen a number of other shelters, we have been shocked by how poorly they are funded and supported, and at the same time inspired by what they are able to do with so little. We want to provide extra help to animal shelters in Idaho. Whether it is food, kitty litter or beds, whatever we can provide frees up some of their own funding that can then go toward veterinary care, outreach or spay and neuter programs. When they have so little, every little bit matters.
